The event kicks off at noon in Geneen Auditorium with a box lunch and
our keynote speaker, Fuqua alumnus Tom Niemann of Blue Devil Ventures,
LLC. Following the keynote speech, students will board buses and head
out into Durham neighborhoods on three separate itineraries, each of
which will include presentations from community and nonprofit leaders
to introduce students to the issues facing the organizations and communities.
Additionally, students will learn first-hand about opportunities for
MBA student volunteer involvement during the academic year. Sign up for

and social value, and he has consulted with the top management of many
of the world's foremost companies. His research specializes in corporate

multinational corporations. Dr. Prahalad is the Paul and Ruth McCracken

More Information: Mr. Tierney is a
recognized leader in the nonprofit sector. In 1999
he launched The Bridgespan Group (http://www.bridgespan.org/),
an independent, nonprofit affiliate of Bain & Company
designed to provide general management consulting services
to foundations and nonprofit organizations. During
2000, Mr. Tierney stepped down as Bain & Company's
chief executive to concentrate on Bridgespan related
activities. Recently, he led the development of Bridgestar,
a new nonprofit initiative dedicated to enhancing leadership
within the nonprofit sector. Mr. Tierney serves on
the boards of eBay, Inc., The National Center for Public
Policy and Higher Education, The Hoover Institution,
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Harvard Business
School, The Harvard Business School Initiative on Social
Enterprise and The National Academies. Mr. Tierney
lectures at Harvard Business School and has contributed
to numerous case studies and publications, including
The Harvard Business Review. Please note that there

Joel L. Fleishman, director of the Duke Foundation Research Program and the
Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center for Ethics, for a discussion of his new book, "The
Foundation: A Great American Secret How Private Wealth is Changing the World". This

the discussion.
Fleishman knows foundations like few others do. After running them, sitting
on their boards and seeking grants from them for half a century, he has
written a groundbreaking book that explains their history, their successes

Drayton, Founder and CEO of Ashoka,
a citizen sector organization dedicated to finding and fostering social
entrepreneurs worldwide, will receive this year's CASE
Leadership in Social Entrepreneurship Award. Drayton coined
the phrase social entrepreneur and in 2005, was named by US News & World
Report as one of America's 25 Best Leaders. Past
award recipients include Muhammad
Yunus, Founder and Managing Director, Grameen Bank, William
Strickland, CEO Manchester Bidwell Corporation and Wendy
Kopp, Founder and CEO of Teach for America.
On April 24th, Mr. Drayton will be honored with this award and also participate
in an on stage dialogue with CASE Faculty Director, Greg Dees. An invite-only
formal lunch will follow this event.
