Overview

Engaging business school faculty and PhD students in the study and teaching of social entrepreneurship is critical to CASE’s efforts to advance the field and improve social conditions. Educational programs and effective practice must be built on useful, actionable knowledge that has been tested, refined, and deepened by rigorous, systematic research. Social entrepreneurship provides a rich opportunity for scholars to extend traditional business and management research into new areas, to collaborate across disciplines, and to contribute intellectually and personally to having a positive impact on society. To disseminate this knowledge, courses and publications highlighting social entrepreneurship are critical vehicles for engaging students, practitioners, and other faculty in exploring this emerging field, helping to build a community of thoughtful inquiry, and ultimately increasing the number of entrepreneurial, innovative, efficient, impact-oriented organizations in the social sector.

CASE fosters the development and dissemination of practical knowledge by supporting research, offering an MBA elective course, and publishing a working paper series, course materials, case studies, and articles.
