* The Harvard Business School Guide to Careers in the Nonprofit Sector
This guide is a great resource for MBAs and alumni interested in entering the nonprofit sector. It provides an overview of social enterprise and the nonprofit sector, discusses the nonprofit career continuum and the job search process, and provides subsector overviews and an extensive list of resources. Scattered throughout are profiles of Harvard MBAs pursuing a wide range of nonprofit careers at various stages in their lives. A step-by-step guide through the tricky transition from the profit-oriented world of business to a highly rewarding career in nonprofits so you don't crash and burn. Includes: how to write an effective resume and cover letter, how nonprofit leaders think and hire, what "strategic volunteerism" is and how to leverage it into a key job, and why you shouldn't waste your time trying to get your first job in nonprofits with a foundation. This online community of nonprofit professionals has developed “Career Search Online,” a good resource for job seekers in the sector.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy
This newspaper of the nonprofit world houses “Philanthropy Careers” with job postings and news and advice on careers.

Council on Foundations
A nonprofit membership association of grantmaking foundations and corporations.

Foundation Center
Foundation Center supports and improves institutional philanthropy by promoting public understanding of the field and helping grantseekers succeed. This link will take you to its ‘job corner.’

A part of Actions Without Borders, this organization’s common desire is to find practical solutions to social and environmental problems. It also has a large career center.
