The demand for green investments is growing rapidly, as more people decide they want their funds to be a force for good in the world. But that doesn’t mean investors have even a basic grasp of the scientific concepts involved.

David Robinson, a finance professor at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, is studying the factors that drive demand for these investments, from fear to social conscience to a desire to make money.

Working with Anders Anderson of the Swedish House of Finance, Robinson surveyed Swedish households and found one thing that isn’t driving green investment is scientific knowledge – because most people failed a basic five question quiz about the environment.

To see how your knowledge measures up, take the quiz by watching the two-minute video above.
