Global Executive MBA Student Carrie Logie
“When I informed my classmates I would be starting a job search, support poured in immediately. Classmates offered to promote my resume, chat with me about opportunities in their companies, or talk about my goals and strategy. This was so meaningful and gave me the confidence to aim high for my next role.”

I chose Fuqua’s Global Executive MBA program specifically because I have always enjoyed learning about the world through the experiences of others whose backgrounds are different from mine and for the Health Sector Management (HSM) certificate program. Upon meeting my HSM classmates, I was excited to see the high caliber of experienced professionals also engaged in the pursuit of improving health care. Each classmate brings different professional training, experience, and expertise; this diversity of thought has led to rich discussions as we attempt to solve some of health care’s biggest challenges and bring about meaningful change to the industry.

Before Fuqua

I was the COO of a small international communications agency, responsible for our American team and operations. During Term 4, I transitioned to a new communications leadership role at a global pharmaceutical company.

After Fuqua

I am already employing learnings from the program in my new role, as I am now responsible for writing processes for our quickly growing company. I am influencing our development ladder, meaning I can help others pursue their career ambitions while supporting the company’s growth goals.

5 Tips for Making Connections Within the Fuqua Community

  1. Keep an open mind to everyone you meet and every experience available to you.
  2. Set an intention to meet at least one new person per day during your residencies by going for a walk, getting a coffee, or sitting with someone new for lunch.
  3. Keep up your connections between residencies! Our cohort talks daily via a huge WhatsApp group conversation that covers everything from birthdays and promotions to current events and trends.
  4. Your professors have so much more to teach you than they can fit into a single term. Invite them to join you for a meal during your residency or ask for a group office hour with your team so you can all get to know each other better.
  5. Take advantage of the Career Management Center (CMC). Even if you aren’t currently looking for a new role, the CMC team can help update your LinkedIn profile and resume or formulate your career goals to prepare you for a future search.
